East Husker Confrence Cross Country Meet

As the season comes to a close with championship races, Stanton’s boys and girls Cross Country teams are rounding in to great form. In the girls race both girls, Brittni Hart and Audry Novotny ran in 2nd and 3rd place for the last half of the race. It was a great thing to see them working together in the race. Brittni Hart would come in 4th in the race, as Madeline Lynch of North Bend Central would out kick Hart in the last 200 meters. It was a very good race for anyone coming off such a long term injury. Audry Novotny would hold on to come in 2nd, bettering her time on this course from a month ago by over a minute.
In the boys race, Grant Nordby and Colton Sperl would lead the Mustangs with a 10th and 14th respectively. Grant would improve his time by 15 seconds on the course from a month ago, while Colton would improve by 56 seconds from a month ago. Although not placing as high as Grant and Colton, Mike McCarthy, Zach Doffin, and Patrick Kosmacek had breakout races. Mike improved his time by 1:36 on the same course from a month ago, to place 33. Zach would better his previous time by 2:14, in a 38th place finish. Patrick would prove to have the most dramatic improvement, bettering his time by 3:08. The work the team has put in over the last month is beginning to show. With the weather getting cooler times will continue to come down for the Mustangs.
