We knew as a team that coming into Norfolk Catholic, it was going to be a tough meet not only were there 6 of the best teams out of our district, but there was also a very good Lindsay team, Wayne(c), Boone Central(c), and Norfolk Catholic. By far the highest quality meet we have been to so far.

As a team we came in 11th as a team on the boys side. The silver lining in that low team placeing is that Grant Nordby and Colton Sperl finished in 29th and 38th respectively. When only counting athletes from our district Grant was the 5th runner from our district to finish and Colton was the 10th. That is a very good sign with half of the season to go. Mike McCarthy, Zach Doffin, and Patrick Kosmacek also showed alot of heart at the meet placing 63rd, 68th, and 73rd respectively. For their first season of Cross Country I am very pleased their progress and attitude thus far. Audry Novotny would carry the lone flag for the Stanton Girls team coming in 21st overall and 8th out of all the athletes from our district. After battling back from an early season injury she raced very well.

The talented Stanton Jr. High also had a race at Norfolk Catholic, Ben Novotny just missing the top ten medals, placing 14th overall. While Caylan Hirschman has his best race of the season placing 49th overall. Becca Unger was the lone medalist from the meet placing 5th overall. She ran a conservative race and steadily moved up through the field. I believe that we learned the most about ourselves from this meet, and if we continue to work hard through the rest of the season we can only get better.
