State Track Results

4x100 team

Stanton had two athletes bring home medals from the State Track and Field Meet which was held at Burke Stadium in Omaha on Friday, May 22nd, and Saturday May 23rd.

Samantha Unger placed 6th in the triple jump with a performance of 34’ 4 ¼, and Pat Campbell placed 7th in the long jump with a leap of 20’ 5.  Unger also finished in 9th place in the 300 meter low hurdles.  Her time of 49.15 was only two tenths shy of making the finals. The boy’s 400 meter relay team of Pat Campbell, Josh Herscheid, Chase Quinn, and Tate Erbst finished 9th with a performance of 44.925.  The quartet missed a medal by just two one-hundredths of a second. Also coming close to a medal was high jumper Lexi Sieh.  Sieh’s performance of 4’ 10 tied her personal best.  Sieh actually jumped high enough to get a medal but her total number of misses during the competition cost her on the tie breaker.

“The kids did a great job,” said coach Ted Peck. “Everyone gave a great effort and that is all we can ask of them.”
